Reagan was a class act and never really blamed Jimmy Carter for anything directly. Reagan would blame the policies of Liberalism and articulate how they were bad for the country, bad for the economy, and bad for America's standing in the world. Reagan was very much a Cheerleader for the American people. He had faith that if the bonds of high taxiation and burdensome regulation were removed, the American people would out produce and prosper as a result. It turned out he was correct. It has been said that Sarah Palin is very much a Cheerleader for the American People. Her faith and trust in the American people, their spirt is unwavering like Reagan.

Remember the “Misery Index?”

If, like me, you are a “child of the 70’s and 80’s,” then you probably have some acquaintance with the term.

Yet we don’t hear much about the Misery Index anymore. And given all that is and is not happening economically in our country right now, it seems like an appropriate time to bring back the index, although we’ll need to amend it just a bit.
