Great Story. Thanks for sharing it. I agree racism can be a "learned response". You very skillfully outlined the results of watching Jerry Springer or watching Bill Cosby's show. In rural Pa it is more likely than not that blacks may be the victim of racism. In urban areas like Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Harriburg, Reading, and Scranton. the more likely victim of racism are white people and likely to be the victim of Black on White crime. White Urban dwellers see first hand how rude and abusive Blacks can be on public transportation. How dis-courteous blacks can be in shopping centers. How demanding blacks can be of city services. All this serves to teach racism to the next generation.

On a regular basis, we are enjoined, usually by a leading Democrat, to overcome our reticence -- or, in Attorney General Eric Holder's formulation, "cowardice" -- and engage in a hearty national conversation about race.
