Another piece of legislation that sounds like it does one thing but actually does something else. The Liberal media really dropped the ball on this one.

The Hippa Act provides doctors legal cover. It allows doctors, and other medical providers to sell and distribute your personal medical information to drug companies, hospitals, medical equipment manufacturers, and a host of other big businesses without your consent.

At the same time, the Hippa Act makes it difficult for your next of kin to get information that could aid in your treatment and recovery. The effect is to make it more difficult for you to detect medical malpractice if a loved one has been denied proper care.

So you may believe the HIPPA Act...

When the Senate Judiciary Committee begins grilling Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor this week, one question will almost certainly not be on the agenda. Ironically, it is the question that is most important to President Obama, if his statement about the main quality he seeks in a high-court appointee is anything to go by.

Obama told Planned Parenthood’s national conference in July 2007 that, if elected President, the criteria he would use to select Supreme Court judges would be their personal feelings – specifically, their ability to feel “empathy.” In fact, the least appropriate question for Judge...
