Short answer is Yes. Liberals are that challenged when it comes to economic and social issues. After 50 years of modern day Liberal programs, they can't point to one program that has been so successful that it actually solved a problem and is no longer needed.

They don't do well in a competative enviorment because they don't understand complex issues.

Notice that Liberals tend to gravitate toward professions where hard work and skill are not measurements of success. These include school teachers, professors, social workers, medical profession, entertainment.
