Quite a few questions surround the war in Afghanistan. Should the U.S. change its approach? Would more troops help? What’s the exit strategy? Washington policymakers will spend a fair amount of time answering these queries this fall.

But there’s a bigger, longer and more expensive war that deserves scrutiny. It also requires an exit strategy: the War on Poverty.

A Poor Way to Help the Poor
You hit the nail on the head. Thats the problem with Liberal social programs. They reward bad behavior and punish good behavior.
If we keep rewarding bad behavior, we should not be suprised when we get more bad bahavior.
You may very well be truely disabled through no fault of your own and its a shame society can't afford to do more. We could do more if we were not paying for Drug addicts who burn out their brain cells and can no longer work and now collect SSI.
