Are We Still Serious About Our Republic

30% of the country is still in the neighborhood of 100 million people. If just 3% of those socialists decide they're not going down without a fight, that's 3 million looting, screaming thugs out there, pushing against a 'lawless, partisan, activist' court. What do you think will happen? I can hear it now - 'back down, back down, let the oppressed have their way...'.

It will be time to play "cowboy and socialist", three million fewer leeches would be good fertilizer.

Unchain the militia and the problem will be solved quickly.

Neither do out of control riots while the authorities stand back and do nothing. The last thing they are going to want are images on TV and online of shop- homeowners sitting on top of their roofs with guns to keep back rioters while the police - National Guard if necessary - are nowhere to be found.

The big problem with that is the government would never order the troops to wade into a crowd with machine guns blazing or crush them under the tracks of a column of tanks. They are too afraid of losing their jobs in the next election. Massacres don't tend to go down well with the electorate regardless of which side of the political fence they are on.

The socialists are outnumbered, but speak the loudest. If they riot it won't take much to counteract them.

Ok, divide 3 million by (or into) the number of patriots with guns, and you'll get an idea of how much ammunition we should be stocking up on to deal with the domestic insurrection you refer to.

Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution authorizes Congress to have power "To provide for calling forth the Militia to ... suppress insurrections..." I have little doubt that the Militia could take care of the problem you refer to, if we were allowed to do it.

If we could ever get a government elected that would obey the law, all these problems that seem so overwhelming could be solved.

"...Are you serious?"

Those are three simple words that form one simple question.  And the question has led us to this moment in time.

Recall in October of 2009, when then-Speaker of the U.S House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was asked about the formulation of the Obamacare bill, and she asked that very question of a reporter.  “Madam Speaker,” a reporter from CNSNews.com said to her, “where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?”

Ms. Pelosi seemed surprised.  Her indignant “are you serious?” response was followed with a slight...
