The Black Family in 1965 and Today

So, we've made no progress on race in the last 50 years? Is that what Steve's implying? There has been tremendous progress in race relations in the past 50 years, and yet the black family structure (as well as the family structure of pretty much every race here in America - white family structure is worse now than the black family was when Moynihan made his statement) is much much worse now. The primary problem is not due to racism, it's due to the "war on poverty". As JFK Democrat mentioned earlier, "When you reward bad behavior you get more of it", and our nice liberal policies are definitely rewarding the destruction of the family...which has the "coincidental" effect of producing more democrat voters.
Way to totally miss the point of the article Steve and just head out on a tangent rant. True, the police are primarily a reactionary force, but the point of the article is if you're ever in a situation where you're confronted by the police, don't do anything that can be misconstrued as being aggressive towards them. That will reduce your chance of being shot.
Wow Paolo, you're an idiot.

You can't seriously think the reason the police have been turning their backs to de Blasio is because of a salary dispute, can you?
I'd be OK if stockholders revolted. That's their right. It's when the gov't gets involved that ticks me off.

He wasn't choked to death. Get your facts straight. Also, it's the greedy gov't who made that stupid law because they can't have anyone "cheating" them out of tax dollars. Why aren't liberals complaining about the idiotic law the police were required to enforce?

The Ironies of Oil

The silence from the left is deafening. When the price of oil was high they were screaming from the rafters and calling in oil execs to Congress to explain why they were charging so much (i.e. why they were colluding to cheat the American public). Now that prices are down there is not one word about how nice the oil companies for charging so little. Of course, I'm not so naive to have thought that would happen.

You're absolutely correct. I can hear it now, "See, my ideas about how to get the economy going are working."

So, you believe water boarding is torture, but that it doesn't work. One thing fools believe: 1. Torture doesn't work.
and he regretted it afterwords because the promises the Democrats made beforehand to close the border never came to fruition...since they never planned on following through with that in the first place. Another reason we can't grant another amnesty with sealing the border first.
