You have got to be kidding me. Doug Giles saying that Jesus OKed gun ownership is making him look like a complete moral and spiritual retard. No!!! I am not against gun ownership. I am saying that to USE Jesus like that for a political purpose is beyond degenerate.

Jesus would be more than ok with self defense.

Jesus' self defense was the sword of the Lord. The word! If we followed the teaching of Jesus and realized what His death meant to each one of us- the world would be so much different and better. We are not able to save ourselves. Guns or no guns. It's the power of Christ that makes the difference. Living for Him, I have found, is a whole lot better than living for myself.
I am not anti-gun, because me and my family like to hunt and to be able to protect ourselves from those who wish to harm us. The need for that is because of sin, just like the need for Christ is because of sin.

"Guns or no guns." You said it. Jesus is absolutely neutral about such things.

As most of you know, during a football game last week Bob Costas lectured us po’ goofy Americans about the evils of a “gun culture” and how we need to evolve away from being obsessed with firearms. As soon as I heard that drivel roll off Mr. C’s tongue I ordered another 30/06, a sweet Walther PPK and a custom .416 Rigby turnbolt. Cowabunga, Bob. Thanks for reminding me to buy more guns.

First off, let me help you, Robert: Guns do not kill people. Dads with daughters do. Oh, and BTW, Planned Parenthood kills a lot of people...
