As far as I'm concerned it all only really amounts to one thing: creating new technology and making existing technology obsolete in order to pump sales. Microsoft and Apple are indeed cut from the same cloth in this respect, and I am sick of them both.
The good news is that RG III, Matt Birk and others are clearing the way for Christians to stand up and speak out. It's one thing for everyone to sic the dogs on Tim Tebow (taking advantage of his uncertain pro skill set), and quite another to sneer at the convictions of athletes of this caliber.
I too imagine it frightening for a young woman to be faced with an unexpected (unwanted) pregnancy, knowing she will have to devote the next two decades of her own life (at least) to caring for that child. But let me suggest that the time to address that fear is not when the young woman finds out she is pregnant, but when that young woman is faced with engaging in unprotected sex. Make the right choice then, and you won't be faced with having to make the wrong choice later.
But Voter ID is racist, yeah?

Actually the broad sweep of the Supreme Court is articulated in the sweeping language of the first paragraph of Article III. Who exactly would you say should have "oversight on the judiciary"? The President? Congress? Or perhaps a select panel of 15 nonpartisan experts? Let me think. No, I'll take it just as it is, warts and all.

Heard it from just about everyone except Frederick Douglass. He at least understood history.

If they want to do well in school they have to make teacher happy. And that teenage rebellion thing? Yeah, it still happens. I recommend cryogenics.

Ayers is also a spoiled, upper-middle class kid whose father's wealth paid for his education and quite likely financed him and Dohrn in their "underground" years. He was a dilettante in the 1960s and is a dilettante now, just better paid and more well-connected.

Spot on, Chuck. When I watch Tebow I am always reminded of what Leo Durocher said about Eddie Stanky: "He can't field, he can't hit, he can't throw. But if he can find a way to beat you, he will." That's Tebow. I should also mention that he is a consummate team player. At Florida he played #2 in a tandem QB setup with Chris Leak. Never complained, never demanded more time, was always ready to go when Urban Meyer called his number. The man is a gamer and a winner. I don't know of too many mediocre football teams that can't use a leader like that, least of all the Jaguars.
Beneath all this is the maintenance of class and economic divides. Are the kids at Sidwell Friends or Hanover going to be subjected to this? No, of course not. They get the elite education: the education designed for those who are going to be running the store. Our kids get the prole education: the education designed for those who are going to be running from store to store. No Child Left Behind was badly misconceived and now we have the result: the liberal nannies in DC making one of the most fundamental decisions possible for our kids.
