Yes, America "absorbed" the Germans, and Italians, and Irish (to name a few). The difference is that those folks came here to become Americans. This story describes people who to one degree or another want to make America become Mexico. I guess that's what happens when you accommodate illegal immigration and do not require immigrants to abjure loyalty to any other government. And BTW, just for the knee-jerkers out there, I grew up in East L.A. eating taquitos before taquitos were cool.
"Off-shoring" has always been a consequence of excessive labor costs, taxes, fees etc. at home. Nothing new here, except that there is a mountain of propaganda and buried facts (a political landfill, if you will) involved. Next time Obama crows that GM has been saved, think anyone among the Media Yorkies will ask "How is that happening"? Nah.
Let us at least thank Obama for finally making it clear that it is HE who is in fact willing to push granny over the cliff, if only for petty partisan political advantqge.
There is not and never has been any concrete evidence of Obama's vaunted intelligence. He was an underachiever in high school (or perhaps he actually performed to capacity). He got into Claremont, Columbia and Harvard because of connections. He became editor of Harvard Law Review having never written or co-authored a single law review article, partly because of connections and partly because of affirmative action. He had a do-nothing 12-year "professorship" (actually a "guest lecturer") at Chicago Law during which time he taught a seminar on ... something. And again, never produced even a single article of legal scholarship. He became an Illinois State Senator through connections and voter fraud. He got his Chicago house through a real estate scam artist. He takes credit for his "autobiography" though it is virtually certain he did not write a word of it. He has occupied the White House for 5 1/2 years because of affirmative action (our first "black" president) and connections (Soros and Wall Street). He had nothing to do with authoring "Obamacare", his so-called "signature" piece of legislation. He has never been able to form any working relationships with the majority of his own party in Congress, let alone the GOP. Every foreign policy "doctrine" he has espoused has resulted either in tragedy or farce. So the only real evidence of his "intelligence" is that notwithstanding a lifetime of failure and at best minimal actual accomplishment he will leave the White House for a life in a mansion in Hawaii and speaking engagements at $1M a pop. Small wonder that young people today tend to think that education, work ethic and actual achievement are overrated.
As far as I'm concerned it all only really amounts to one thing: creating new technology and making existing technology obsolete in order to pump sales. Microsoft and Apple are indeed cut from the same cloth in this respect, and I am sick of them both.
The good news is that RG III, Matt Birk and others are clearing the way for Christians to stand up and speak out. It's one thing for everyone to sic the dogs on Tim Tebow (taking advantage of his uncertain pro skill set), and quite another to sneer at the convictions of athletes of this caliber.
I too imagine it frightening for a young woman to be faced with an unexpected (unwanted) pregnancy, knowing she will have to devote the next two decades of her own life (at least) to caring for that child. But let me suggest that the time to address that fear is not when the young woman finds out she is pregnant, but when that young woman is faced with engaging in unprotected sex. Make the right choice then, and you won't be faced with having to make the wrong choice later.
But Voter ID is racist, yeah?

Actually the broad sweep of the Supreme Court is articulated in the sweeping language of the first paragraph of Article III. Who exactly would you say should have "oversight on the judiciary"? The President? Congress? Or perhaps a select panel of 15 nonpartisan experts? Let me think. No, I'll take it just as it is, warts and all.

Heard it from just about everyone except Frederick Douglass. He at least understood history.
