Sorry, Jules65, you are WRONG! They are NOT insurance programs, because you don't have to pay your premiums into the system to get money out of it. Anyone who meets a set of criteria can qualify to draw on SS, Medicar or Medicaid. The requirements to participate do NOT specify a beneficiary had to have paid into the system at any time, what so ever. So, yes, it IS an entitlement because you are entitled to it if you can check off enough boxes. If it were insurance, one of those boxes would be "Are you current on your premiums?". But that box isn't there to check, is it.

I reckon "Entitlement" sounds better than Welfare" right? I sure as Hell did not have an option to decline to pay, as I recall!

while all these OTHERS who didn't pay into the system, are living on O-U-R money, often collecting more than we can get, because back when THEY started getting O-U-R money there was more of it available.
It IS NOT an "Entitlement" because it isn't to be GIVEN to anyone too lazy to work ,but because we EARNED IT,and our "Elected Officials" changed laws and rules to give it to those who didn't EARN it.

Sure, sport; Figures you'd think that way. MOST people,at least those of us who WORKED their whole lives, consistently paid into Social Security from every paycheck, with the expectation that when we got too old or too busted-up to work,we'd start getting that money back. Somewhere along the way, though,a couple of things went sideways;the Government started "borrowing" from that DEDICATED fund to do other things, and the "Rules" (Laws) got slid so some people who never paid into the DEDICATED fund could ALSO get some of the money. BOTH problems have depleted this DEDICATED fund to a point where the very people who paid into it from the time of their first jobs, can't even get enough of their "share" of this money to survive on,

auspex, when we were forced to start paying (people who work for a living) into SS and Medicare, they were sold to the public as an insurance policy for when we were no longer able to earn a living, and needed to have some survival income and survival medical care. They were bas tard ized to become a catch-all program for any crybabe who wanted to 'game' the system, and would vote for the socialist-democrat politicians offering them something for nothing.
It is only an 'entitlement' because the socialist-democrats have turned them int such a beast that they are no longer recognizable as the original programs.

I’ve had fun documenting and comparing examples of government stupidity in both the United States and United Kingdom, and today’s story clearly belongs on those lists.

Send this kid to a re-education camp!

It’s also an example of a perverse anti-gun mentality.

How else can you explain a school in Talbot County, Maryland, suspending a couple of young boys for the supposedly horrible offense of making gun shapes with their fingers while playing cops and robbers?!?

Here are some of the
