That's the point: progressives know how to think...and conservatives? Not so much. Look, I know Romney is stuck with no issues other than to rely on conservatives' irrational hatred of Obama. He can't run away from his carbon copy health care system in Massachusetts; he can't say he created jobs because it's already being shown he destroyed more jobs than he created; he has a bunch of weird character-revealing stories in his past, etc. He's sunk and he knows it but what can he do? He is forced to rely on the nutjubs in the GOP voter base. He has my sympathy.

Some astoundingly grim news on the "economic recovery" front: half of American households are receiving government funds to support themselves. No matter which way you slice it, this number isn't good news for the Obama administration -- they can spin the jobs numbers by ignoring the number of people who dropped out of the workforce, but this statistic is pretty straightforward.

The 49.1% of the population in a household that gets benefits is up from 30% in the early 1980s and 44.4% as recently as the third quarter of 2008.
