Here in So CA, about 100 miles north of the Mexico border there has not been a change! We are still inundated with illegal Mexicans who depend on the system. The White House is so far removed from the border states they have no real idea what they are talking about.....it is just a pack of lies. How many of them have spent anytime along the southern borders and the towns to see first hand what has been happening for years. Let AZ and the other states deal with the issues and leave the WH out of it!

How shameful that women in this day and age are unwilling to stand up for themselves and proclaim they are not dependent on the government. Where is the pride? the ambition? the motivation? the self-esteem? Obama's administration has certainly done a number on women in this country and these women don't even know they have been bamboozled! What a bunch of spineless females with their hands out for something they do not need!!!!!!! All this talk about contraception and womens' rights truly takes us back to the dark ages.

While I am very conservative I cannot agree with Rick Santorum's referendum on birth control. This is an issue that was dealt with many decades ago! It is the choice of every single woman to make for herself and does not belong in government! The problems facing our country today are monumental and need a president who can address the important issues and seek solutions. Let's all make lists of our top 5 issues we want the government to address and see just where birth control falls. How did Santorum get so very, very far off track with what needs to be addressed to save this country from another 4 years of Obama? Is he unable to think bigger problems and tasks? I for one do not care how he and his wife feel about birth control,...

He should be challenged openly to quote his favorite scriptures! Then we will find out just how much he knows about God's word. In Sunday School many years ago we had "Bible drills"........let's drill Obama!

Many people in this country are satisfied with the status quo of their lives, my neighbors for example. Envy rears its' ugly head when Obama or someone like him stirs the pot and continually tells all the people there are others with much more. He believes these "have nots" should not go to work to have more, but ENVY those with more and he will help them get some of it..........by taking from the "haves". Obama himself has created more class warfare in 3 years than has ever existed in this country. Everyday I see people around me who are happy with their Section 8 housing, welfare checks, EBT cards (food stamps) etc. They truly do not want to seek more; they do not see themselves as "have nots". So, Obama SHUT UP!

Brilliantly stated! Biggest obstacle is the people who don't bother voting, or at the least really listening to all options before making an educated decision on how to vote! I am for voting big Government in DC out and take it all back to the individual states. It would solve most of the major problems including the debt!

Thank you, Dave, for an excellent article! This country has such unrelenting problems that a situation like John King vs New Gingrich Thursday evening is ridiculous. That said I am so glad Newt put John King in his place. You have written very clearly about this old story and let's hope it will be put to rest. As you said, Marianne was the "other woman" when the first wife was dealing with cancer. Doesn't she see how hypocritical she is? Some women are just not real smart and will do anything for money. I am sure Marianne was paid a nice sum by ABC for this dirty journalistic effort.

That is absolutely no excuse! If a woman knows or suspects a man is married, and there will be signs, he is "hands off" until he has a divorce declaration in hand! Some women are so gullible and desperate they will believe anything to get a man. Even before the internet there were ways to do a check on some guy. As for the Gingrich situation it is in the past, so let it be in the past. I still believe ABC paid Marianne Gingrich, the adultress, to do the interview and air it just before the debate. Sure did backfire, didn't it? I know many angry women like Marianne and hopefully Newt's response to John King (the jerk) will shut some of them up. I am a conservative, Christian woman, 71 y/o who believes in forgiveness and redemption.

Please explain the difference between Evangelicals and born-again Protestants. It would be important to include Evangelical African-Americans in your studies because your numbers are not honest. No, I am not black but believe they should not be excluded. Their opinions and votes are important!
