You assume he was telling the truth. Do you go out in your front yard and shout to your neighbors you have a gun in the house? Come on, give the guy some credit, he's not a fool!! I won't tell anybody I do, or don't have a gun either. Let'em find out the hard way.

So, let me get this right... I have to own a gun to be part of your movement?

Wow. Way to cut off you nose to spite your face....

Are you dim? auntbee was referring to the columnist. Not YOU!

No, but just like taxes, if you don't own one, you really don't have "skin in the game". It's easy to sit on the side lines commenting on everything going on around you, but really not risking anything. But when you actually join in, and run the same risk, things become a lot clearer and meaningful. I can talk all day about the issue with obama care and the medical field and how it affects doctors, but I'm not a doctor. You can bet if I was, I would have a little more to say about things. I can support them, but I really don't trulely understand. Second amendment needs all the support it can get. leave him alone.

If you don't own a gun and don't know how to use one, you are worthless as back-up, so probably not, in literal terms, part of the movement.

auntbee, he said "not a big gun owner". I'd bet he had at least one small one.

I’m not a big gun owner and I’m not part of the gun culture. So why, then, do I frequently post about the issue of gun control?

Mostly because I believe in freedom and the Constitution.

But I also appreciate facts and analysis and I know that law-abiding citizens are safer and criminals face greater obstacles when good people have the right of self defense.

Last but not least, I think there’s a non-trivial possibility that the United States will suffer some sort of social chaos and/or breakdown of law and order because of the damage caused by reckless...
