I attempted to have an American Pro Gun Conversation with a number of Canadian Anti-Gun colleagues, and we were all very polite but they just kept saying in bewilderment, "But there's just no REASON to have a gun" no matter what I said. I began to feel as if I were shouting down the well and getting an echo for my pains, as my Southern Granny would have said. Canada and America parted ways right at the beginning because the Americans wanted to toss the King out and never have another King, and the Canadians didn't care who ruled them so long as they had peace, order and hockey, and somewhere in there the Canadians became convinced that Americans are nuts.

Here are twelve comical but true resolutions that every liberal should make for 2013:

1.) Resolve to spend time with gun-owners. I have a liberal friend who says she would rather be in the same room as a cobra snake than a gun, even an unloaded gun. Guns really, really scare her. But guns don’t kill. People kill. Whether the tool is a gun or a knife or a baseball bat, unconscionable people kill, not the inanimate objects in their hands.
