I was wondering why "Maggie The Fat" had not been writing in light of all the recent news. Now we know: when it's bad news for her side, she hides (probably with Domino's Pizza on her speed dial), but when it's good news, she puts her shoes back on her big, stinkin' feet and crawls back out into the daylight. Boies and Colson went through Cooper's case like Sherman went through Gerogia: there was nothing left but a few bumbling "expert witnesses," eager to get off the stand. Go back to lying under oath, Maggie. I'm sure you can still make some quick bucks there and keep your mouth stuffed with oreos.

This week, two things happened in the gay marriage wars:

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay overruling U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker's decision to permit gay marriages to take place immediately, before higher courts have a chance to review his unprecedented ruling.

And a new poll released by Public Policy Polling shows that Americans continue to oppose gay marriage by an almost 2-to-1 margin.
