1979 - Jimmeh was hosting the A.Sadat (Egypt) and M.Begin (Israel) for the historic signing of the Peace Deal. After the signatures Jimmeh suggests (like a ventriloquist though his non-stop signature grin) "we should all shake hands now". Sadat looks right at Begin and says in Arabic "look, we have a clown". Begin acknowledges with an understanding grin and a nod. They do a three way shake.
I was watching this live with a person who spoke Arabic.
I never saw him laugh that hard.
It was out of line for the reporter to shout out disagreements with the President, but when Obama referred back to him a few minutes later...well, Obama jumped in the mud with him. This was all topped off with a couple parting shots from the press as he ended his speech. Very interesting.
