WHAT???? You can't raise revenue by more taxation. We need the economy (private) to grow and thus expand the tax base raising revenue without destroying the rich and middle class. As a math major with 60 years of experience I can guarantee that if taxes (rates) are raised without first cutting spending we will be joining the Greece nation and heaven help our grandchildren!!!!

Agreed, Huskie. The GOP should not simply "signal" willingness to raise taxes, and wait for a counter from the Dems.... the party should present a coherent package and put it on the Dems to make a move.

So, the GOP digs in and says no revenue increases, period. What happens? Things stay as they are and we keep running $1.3 trill deficits? You KNOW we won't get spending cuts w/o giving the Dems some of what they want....what's your plan?

Can the GOP really be this stupid? It appears many in the GOP Congress are suddenly willing to raise taxes. What utter fools. As Forest Gump's mother (played by Sally Field) said, "Stupid is, as stupid does." And this is world-class stupid.
