Welfare for Whom? Consider the approximately one million abortions done in the US every year. How many of those do you suppose were...........say........... for reasons related the the mother's physical health? The other question is easy to answer = How many were for the welfare of the child? Answer = zero. Maybe Americans aren't as interested in the welfare of children as we would like to pretend we are.

If there is ever a contest for the law with the most grossly misleading title, the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 should be a prime candidate, because the last thing this Act protects is the welfare of Indian children.
