It's begun! My doc finally found a pill that brought my blood pressure down to normal - an essential because of blood clot balanced next to my brain. Last week my Medicare Rx insurance company notified the pharmacist (not even letting me know!) that they were no longer paying for the Rx. This in not only scary - but VERY scary!

This past winter I suffered bronchitis and an ear infection with a broken eardrum, a second, antibiotic-resistant ear infection, and lingering balance issues.

There were 4 different medicines that my insurance company didn't cover. Oddly, that included two which were cheaper to pay for out-of-pocket than to pay the co-pay for the covered meds.

In a free, competitive system I'd be able to shop around and find a plan where I could drop the drug rehab, birth control, and psych services and get enhanced coverage for respiratory infections instead.

Within minutes of the announcement that Paul Ryan would be Mitt Romney's running mate, the Democratic attack machine shifted into high gear.

"Paul Ryan will destroy Medicare as we know it," claimed the ads. "So will Mitt Romney." Be afraid. Be very afraid.
