All the analysis about what could have been done or should have been done, right picks or wrong or even getting the message out are not the problem. We now have a vast majority in this country who have figured out they can vote themselves “stuff”. Don’t have stuff? Vote yourself stuff. Other guy have too much? Vote to take it away. Even if you didn’t work for it or don’t deserve it. Vote for stuff. And to HECK with the consequences.

It is an immature attitude but yes, that is it. But their not coming from a place of evil in most cases, but more a sense of entitlement - ":Why shouldn't we know what it is like to be rich?" - Forget about you can if you work hard

Analysis: Four More Years

A few stray thoughts and observations in the aftermath of the 2012 election -- on substance, process, and tactics:

(1) The polls were broadly right, both at the state and national levels -- a dichotomy that I believed to be unlikely in the extreme as recently as yesterday morning. The electorate ended up being D+6, nearly on par with 2008, and six points better than the 2010 midterms. I was wrong about this, as were a good number of other observers.
