Any discussion about this topic that doesn't begin with sin, man's total depravity, and his need for a Savior is not one worth having. Gun control won't put an end to sin. Psychiatrists won't do anything for man's total depravity. The government is not a savior. Repent and put your faith and trust in Christ Jesus alone. Only a heart that has been transformed through the free gift of grace will make a difference.

Until that happens I will keep my guns loaded and at hand and don't try and take them. Until it happens the nonbelievers (socialist, communist, statest) will still let the insane kill you anyplace at any time.

Not only is the government not a savior, it has blood on it's hands (with Fast &Furious). That's the most offensive part of Obama and Eric Holder's comments and crocodile tears.

If Obama loved kids, abortions would be weighing on his conscience and the debt he is bringing on our kids and young people. 16 trillion, and counting, to get votes from the ignorant and those made needy by his policies and Czars.
No man can justify putting debt on those that have no say about it, and will have to pay it back, with interest.
The suffering of babies, that survive late term abortions, being killed or allowed to die, is a picture I cannot contemplate, yet he thinks that is acceptable.

I recall, recently, that Obama's deposed Green Energy Czar, Van Jones, said, recently, at a speech in Berkeley, 'let the bodies pile up on the beaches'. An avowed Marxist.
I depart from the subject, but only some lives are valued by Marxists and Obama.

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of "gun control" advocates?

The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.

If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.

Places and times with the strongest gun control laws have...
