Mark Donahue over at The Daily Rash sorts things out for us, including the transcript of Hillary's interview with Chris Matthews: http://www.thedailyrash.com/chris-christie-staff-blames-bridge-closings-on-anti-islam-film Have fun!
An excellent choice was made for a reference link by the author of this article. Steve Goddard's "Real Science" website is one of the best for those who want to stay on top of the global warming/climate change propaganda being forced down our throats by the statists.
"The Federal Government is America's largest employer . . ." For the first time in over 5 years, an honest statement! Here's more honesty from a much better source, which was also made on October 1, 2013. Matt Walsh strikes again! "Government shutdown? Where? What government shutdown . . . ? To call this a shutdown is like ordering a Diet Coke with your Big Mac meal and calling it a 'starvation diet.' It's like calling a 600 pound man 'anorexic' because he skipped lunch last Tuesday. Get a grip, America. Or at least a dictionary . . . . government is not a jobs program, and government jobs cannot justify their own existence . . . ." http://www.themattwalshblog.com/2013/10/01/unfortunately-the-government-has-not-shut-down There the interested reader will find a 214 page listing of every Federal agency now in existence, with the question, "which ones would you like to see eliminated?"
1375 wrote about an hour ago, "A new low . . ." Well, guess again. Flotus' "Let's Move" website is still up and running quite well! Priorities, priorities, priorities. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/10/06/amber-alerts-website-goes-offline-amid-government-shutdown.
James Madison in Federalist #51. The full context states, "Ambition must be made to counteract ambition. The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place. It may be a reflection of human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels . . ."
Where haven't Americans seen this lately? http://www.parade.com/170487/parade/making-political-frenemies Of course, it's been over thirty years since we've witnessed any true leadership from Washington.
The link that follows offers the best and truest representation I've read lately about our Dear Leader and his sycophants, and it was first published on this thread last evening at 7:20 PM by smitty41. Writer Matt Walsh nails it: http://www.themattwalshblog.com/2013/10/03/an-open-letter-to-president-obama Thought I'd take the opportunity to keep it before my fellow Townhall friends.
Hey Smitty, you're pretty fast! I was going to post the same article until I hit the refresh comments button, and there was yours at the top of the thread. Good job. The best line: "No, it would be a statue of you pulling the wings off of a fly, or spitting in someone's orange juice . . . . It will show you as you are."
It seems to me that this is Netanyahu's perfect opportunity to act. Israel can no longer expect the help or support of Valerie Jarrett's America, nor the "One" who hides behind her Iranian skirt. Israel preemptively saved itself in 1948 (a miracle in itself) immediately after being granted her "right" to exist by the gentile nations. They did it again in 1967, by unloading the wrath of God on those nations bitterly clinging to their religion of pieces. It's time to do it again, and for Netanyahu to finish the job Joshua failed to do because he was deceived by the progenitors of today's religion of pieces (Joshua 9). It's beyond time for Israel to use the big stick on the dogs. Let's get it over with.

So Ed, are you saying that Jarrett is to Obama what Jezebel was to Ahab? (1 Kings 21). If so, I believe you're on to something. She is ruthless--born in Iraq to boot. It didn't work out all that well for either.

Al, perhaps Mr. Sowell is wise enough to stay out of the mud called progressive politics, and focuses more on using his wisdom and insight to keep the issues before us. You know, "the pen is mightier than the sword" type of thing. What politician in office has the ideas or time to write as Sowell does, without compromising for fear of position? None. Not even Reagan. Politicians write after they've left office and established their libraries to remind us of how great they WERE. Genius writes while the politicians are in office, and find their calling and peace in doing so. They can only hope that the current ruling "mastermind" heeds wisdom, as most of the engaged populace does.
