the colonists simply wanted a separation from the british empire. so by simple definition it was secession. for blackwell to make a big deal about the choice of the word "secession" is a most ugly attempt at attacking a much much better man than he will ever be. when statist and federal government apologists like blackwell write rubbish like this, their hostility toward liberty is all too transparent.

Congressman Ron Paul has just delivered his valedictory address in the House of Representatives. And he has told TV interviewers that the American Revolution was a wonderful example of secession. He's a much better OB/GYN, I'm sure, than he is a student of America's history. He could be cited for political malpractice.
