in the system. In my state, a year doesn't go by without one of these stories. Yes, sometimes a white family will adopt a non-white child, but not a lot of them will ever want to go through any social stigma tied to adopting out of race.

that is totally untrue. There are MANY children, mostly of color, who spend months, even years as in the adoption system, waiting for a home to call their own. In NJ, this is especially true. I see the advertisements every day in the Star-Ledger. Many of the children are left unadopted because of racism in the system. Those that can best help a child won't adopt it because of prejudices against blacks and Hispanics. Those are the facts.
