Hows this for "intellectual honesty" --- we can't afford your "war on drugs". I am with Ms. Carol Platt Liebau that overhauling the "safety net", or as I say, stop the redistribution, is critical and a good point. But overall this article just sounds like more carping about the kids. You can not legislate morality. Oh, and how is letting the fairies and the lezbarado's get 'married' related in anyway to out of wedlock births? I am this slow, I can't make the connection.

I disagree. The second amendment is a doomsday provision assuring our right to protect against tyrannies, including abusive government. Essentially giving us the ability to self-defend our rites and state of being free. I think the smart people might call us, the armed citizenry, "non-state actors" in this scenario. The second amendment does not limit your right to be arms for that purpose, but specifically enumerates it. In my opinion it is enumurated because the founders new it there would always be efforts to undermine it.
Exactly!!!!!!!! Well said!
Remember, as US citizens we have both the right and the responsibility to fix this. And we can! Hope you all have a good rest of your day, thanks for playing! And do something to help fire the pols who stole 2.6T from us!
I have thrown lots of mud around on this thread. I work 28 straight 12's and then have 2 weeks off, so you all can't get rid of me for a while! So I just want to say. Assigning blame for the FACT the social security is busted-flat is pointless. As citizens we are all writing checks that are kids are going to have to cash if we don't get it under control. In my opinion we have to end ss/medicare. Some of us are going to have pay into it for a while, and get nothing out of it but the pride that we honored a social contract and simultaneously solved a major problem for our kids. But hell, lots of people DIED for us to have the right to fix this. It's really not that big a deal. The alt is we pay in, get nothing and our kids have a mess.
RE: gwharpo - We are totally on the same page. But what do we do about it? We live in a Republic, we are citizens. What the Gov does is OUR responsibility. I sure don't have all the answers, but this whole thing falls apart if we don't right the ship.
RE: emikan Other nations pay pensions and they are all fing broke!!!!! Besides we are Americans, we can live more richeliy than anyone because of the system given to us by the founding fathers if we just have the courage to DO IT. (Had to get some all caps in. lol). Then if other nations want to live that richely all they have to do is steal the system! It's easy, be responsible for you own actions and take care of private property ownership rights......
Defenitaely not. Heck, I voted for flippin' Max Baucus in one of my first elections. But I am not going to do the same stupid sh*# over and over and expect a different result. And SS will end on my watch, hopefully in an intelligent and fair way. The social security trust fund is essentially empty. The only way ss checks go out is from my contributions taken every other week and from borrowing from the chinese. That's just the way it is.
