any man who gets married in today's america has lost his ever lovin' mind and fails to focus. this is not a good business plan if you want to to be able to control your own destiny and enjoy some of life's small pleasures. life is short.

I still contend that marriage is a good thing for men, women, and society as a whole. But I also acknowledge that the laws and regulations surrounding marriage, many of which have only emerged in the past 40 years, have made it less appealing. Men who get married can lose their money, their children, and their property and a lot more. The laws are more favored towards the women than the men right now and that's hurting the institution of marriage a great deal.

The current conundrum regarding the legalization of same-sex marriage is what happens when church and state are mixed -- the topics become confusing and confused.

When I married my husband almost 15 years ago, I did so out of love and out of a desire to witness before God my commitment to him and his to me. The legal and tax ramifications did not enter into my head.
