Another aspect of his assinine statement: Hey Chief! I realize you want to have your boys in blue be overwhelmingly armed and for no criminal (or citizen) to have a chance to stand up to the armed might of the police force but we don't. The reason you guys are paid good money to act like bullys and have arrest authority is that there is an element of risk in your job. Quit whining and demanding totalitarian power.

Nearly three weeks ago, Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about what America can do to stop gun violence. During his testimony, he stressed the importance of the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban.

"The ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines must be reinstated. Like assault weapons, high-capacity magazines are not used for hunting, do not belong in our homes and wreak havoc in our communities," Johnson said.
