If it weren't for government, Maryland would be kaput. Take a look at the county-by-county unemployment numbers. Harford's okay, but how much of that is because of Aberdeen Proving Ground? Howard's just fine, thank you, but how much of that is is thanks to Ft. Meade? Montgomery County is almost fully employed, but how much of that is because of Washington, DC? Get away from government strongholds, though, and it gets bad. Look at the numbers on the Eastern Shore, and picture those numbers for all the parts of America that don't have government help. O'Malley would be worse than Obama. I know that sounds hard to believe, but look at the numbers. Maryland is kaput.
