they used to be in some states before WWI. They were also considered disgusting, filthy, and only suitable for the lower classes. That was before Hollywood realized there was money in them thar cancer sticks. It's interesting that at the same time more and more restrictions on tobacco are being put in place, it seems that pot is getting more and more support. I wonder if in 20 or 30 years we will have governmet inquiries on if people who support/sell pot were lying about it not being harmful.
wait, I thought marijuana was harmless. Surely it must have been the eggs used in the cookies that got them sick. We all know that marijuana is God's gift to humanity. It can't harm anyone, whether smoked or ingested. Right???

By inviting Bill onto their show they should have known, let me repeat, SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, that he would have opinions that they did not share. How on earth could they be shocked at anything he says. It would have been expected. If he had been a surprise guest and just blurted that out I could see how they might have been offended. But he was invited. Oh by the way, has anyone yet picked up on Whoopi's comment about Tim McVeigh (I'm pretty sure she said that before lightly stepping away)???? So not only are Muslims off-limits, Christians are worse terrorists than Muslims??
I bet several people sent in more than one email :-)
"Larry Little, a lawyer and professor of political science at Winston-Salem State University" - apparently there is something in the constitution on separation of church and state. there must be if Mr. Little says so.
it's amazing that those organizations who stress how free speech is most important and must be tolerated are in fact the most intolerant of free speech than anyone (ok, with the exception of Nazis and Communists, though they are pretty close).

Oh yeah? well you missed one: LAW NO. 4 - Minority members are allowed to speak their minds freely and openly.... unless it violates LAWS 1 through 3
The only thing that has changed is how more openly the Democrats do this. They've always done it, but before they weren't as desparate.
If there is no supreme being who will endow us with these rights then they are there only by the grace of Government. If the Government gives us something, then just as in imminent domain they can take it. The idea of the founders was that the rights given us by God are ours, and that this is a limitation placed upon government to let us be, not a gift from our "leaders". If we are not answerable to a higher authority then upon what are our values and responsibilities based? They are then based upon the whim and desires of those who make the rules.
it wasn't a gaffe. ignorance yes, stupidity perhaps, but not a gaffe.
