Supposedly Jefferson Davis got some of his best intelligence on Union military activities from the New York Times. Seems the NYT has a time honored tradition of betraying national secrets.
Is this the same Julian Assange who is currently facing statutory rape charges in Sweden? Too bad this 'hero' isn't so concerned about publishing Chinese or Iranian state secrets.
Fine - send money back to CA, but with strings attached, like don't spend more than you have in the bank.
Oh yeah, Guinan on Star Trek TNG. Wasn't that when she and Ted Danson were a couple? Wonder what Ted's opinion on all this is?

Huh? What Christians are you talking about? Every Christian I know, and I know many, acknowledge that while we are spared Hell because of Jesus's blood on the cross, we are not immune from the consequences of sinful actions. But don't take my word for it. Go to Church and find out for yourself. A real church by the way, not a country club pretending to be a church.

Do you mean Sandra Day O'Connell? What did he say about her?
"What is that she is waiting for exactly?" maybe for a Hollywood agent to call her and sell the movie rights to her story.
OK - maybe the exact chronological order of the details posted above was not perfect. The wikipedia article puts the details in proper order with one exception. The southern strategy really started with Goldwater '64. Nixon was the first GOP candidate to have success with it. Whether LBJ's Great Society (including the Civil Rights act) had more effect to push southern whites to the GOP or attracted more blacks to the Dem party can be left for scholars to debate. The bottom line is that the black vote went solidly Dem after 1964, ironic since it was Democratic Congressmen who tried so hard to prevent the Great Society bills from passing.
The irony is that southern blacks supported the GOP prior to 1960, due to the post reconstruction era. In 1964, Goldwater and others decided to drop southern black support (which was then limited because of poll taxes etc) and go after the southern white vote instead. The liberal dems then went after the black vote and was able to lock it in after 1968, thanks largely to the Great Society programs that ensured dependence government programs. So how does the GOP restore the black vote it once had?
