Pennsylvania needs to move further and restrict the unions' collective bargaining like Wisconsin and Ohio. Homeowners are being destroyed by the teachers' unions and their demands. The average salary in one school district in my area is $80,000 plus benefits. My taxes are going to pay for their health benefits, and I just received the costs for my Medicare plan for 2012, and they have gone up dramatically from initiating a $500 deductible to higher co-pays. I am one fed up citizen. In one county in Georgia, once you reach 62, you no longer pay school taxes. That's the way it should be. The school districts seem to have a blank check, and they are being written on our savings accounts. It's time something was done about this.

I watched the debate, and Ron Paul has no problem with Iran getting nuclear weapons. He compares them to the cold war between the US and Russia. Iran is NOT Russia. These people are a bunch of fanatics who would have no problem shooting a nuclear missile at the US or Israel. They have vowed to destroy Israel. At times, Paul appears a little unhinged, and if you think he could hold his own in a debate with Obama, then the little green men will take you away. Means testing is alive and well in Medicare. If you are single and make over $85,000 per year you pay more for your Medicare. If a couple makes over $170,000 a year, they can pay double premiums. The more income you have, the higher your premiums are. Frankly, many of these people would opt out of Medicare if they could get other insurance. From a Wall Street Journal article a year or so ago, the government threatens to stop your Social Security if you drop out of Medicare. I believe there is a court case on this subject. The reason the government doesn't want the higher-income seniors to drop out of Medicare is that they need their premiums to pay for those in the lower-income brackets. I

The Reid plan depends on cuts from winding down the money spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is a false assumption. Let's face it! the government is wasting billions of dollars every day in Washington. As Senator Coburn said when they got a GAO report on government agencies, there are 400 different departments working on teacher education, and they are all being paid by taxpayer dollars. This is pure insanity. The government has gotten so big that it is out of control, and something has to be done to stop it.
