Al Jazeera is hardly anti-American. They are journalists doing what journalists are supposed to do, something that this site clearly is unfamiliar with.

Right.
Reporters /report/ the news, the who-what-when-where-why data of what happened.

Journalists write Journals, in which they put that *fraction* of the news that they find interesting, along with their thoughts, feelings, and ruminations on that news. It's the difference between a police blotter, and a blog. That's why Journalist Dan Rather could broadcast a fictitious yarn about a memo detailing President Bush's failings; and even when it was demonstrated to be a forgery, still insisted that it was factual. You see, in his OPINION what it said was true, and that's what Journalism is about, rather than rigorously demonstrable facts.

We need more reporters, and less Journalists. Journalists are like "tails": every "donkey" has one.

Sometimes there is so much stupid going on in the world that you have to just stop and take stock of it all.

Al Gore sells Current TV to Al Jazeera.

The Americans who owned the anti-American network Current TV soon will be replaced as owners by foreigners who operate the anti-American network Al Jazeera. I doubt any of the 40,000 regular Current TV viewers would have noticed had the news not gone public. Of course, most of them spend their time writing diaries at the DailyKos, when not being yelled at by their moms to clean their rooms....
