The grand majority of heterosexual marriages produce something of value to society - children and a stable home in which to raise and provide for them. Homosexual unions, in contrast, produce nothing beneficial to society and have a much higher chance of creating more detriment. In effect, we both have Buicks, but your Buick has no engine. Our Buick moves us, and therefore society, forward while your's simply blocks the road. Why should the two be treated the same?
