Emerging -- Flawed! -- Democratic Narrative on the IRS

""Based upon everything I've seen, the case is solved. And if it were me, I would wrap this case up and move on, to be frank with you," Cummings added." Sure thing, Captain Lobotomy! The wrinkle just above this guy's face looks like an incision through which his brain was removed, and his words provide ample evidence of his brainlessness.

Maybe he is a hack for Obama. If so, he matches up nicely with all the GOP anti-Obama hacks on the committee who are calling for Obama's/Holder's/Lerner's heads and not bothering to collect reloevant empirical data.

That's amusing... FLMC demanding "relevent empirical data." Even if such data were presented here, you would just ignore it or dismiss it - that is the way with leftist tools and I've seen you do it multiple times in the discussions regarding abortion and homosexuality. In other words, your credibility is nil, and your ability to scrutinize facts is equally worthless.

In any case, it doesn't take much more evidence than the fact that Dems aren't willing to release any of the actual documents or names they claim would clear up this "little misunderstanding." That's a pretty easy way to tell that they have nothing to hide behind but their own shadows and whatever obfuscations they can toss up in the way of the investigation.

Maybe they already know this stuff, but I have sure never seen it presented anyplace. I've just heard them say "Tea-Party groups were targeted". You have to show other groups were NOT targeted if you say something like that.

"SHOW IT ONCE! Then you could say that."

Once again, you seem to be under the false impression that your demands merit any sort of factual response. We are waiting for the rest of the facts to come out while Dems try to dismiss the issue pre-investigation and put up roadblocks to impede any investigations that might occur. The fact that the IRS targeted or applied extra scrutiny to ANYONE above that provided for by the law, regardless of their political affiliation, ought to be enough to ring all the bells and raise all the red flags, but you clearly don't understand the implications there.

Sorry, FLM, but that talking point was debunked weeks ago. Try again.
FlamingLiberalMultiCulturalist Wrote: Jun 10, 2013 1:15 PM
Clearly, I am an Obama supporter, and the above scenario serves my political ideology. But I would reject that scenario if you could show me a bunch of pro-Obama groups seeking 501-c4 status that sailed right through. The only relevant data point I've read in that regard is that the "Texas Progressive Network", a Liberal Group, also got an 'intrusive questionnaire' from the IRS. (NY Times).

There was no "surge of applications" for tax-exempt status. That was debunked weeks ago. Why can't you accept the fact that your beloved Obama is a crook?
FlamingLiberalMultiCulturalist Wrote: Jun 10, 2013 1:18 PM
WHere? How? URL? Just saying 'it was debunked' does not mean anything. The hard data I call for above could do that, but nobody shows it.

According to the Washington Post:

"Now everyone from Moveon.org to the Heritage Foundation has a 501(c)4. The number of 501(c)4 applications the IRS is getting more than doubled in recent years, rising from 1,500 to more than 3,400. "

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/05/10/the-irs-was-wrong-to-target-the-tea-party-they-shouldve-gone-after-all-501c4s/

This acticle says that the IRS was not going after all 501-c4's, but the 501-c4's that they say the IRS let slide include both the Heritage Foundation and Organizing for America.

The title of the article acknowledges that the IRS targeted the Tea Party. Checkmate.
Anominus Wrote: Jun 10, 2013 1:29 PM
"And once again, this is not yet a FACT. It is an ALLEGATION. It is just being repeated over and over and over again as if it were fact."

So you deny that the IRS targeted anyone with additional scrutiny?
Ken6226 Wrote: Jun 10, 2013 1:45 PM
So you're saying the contents of the article contradict its own title? Sure, I'll buy that (sarcasm).

Democrat Elijah Cummings is seeking to call an end to any investigation of the IRS, quoting from a portion of a transcript w which, he says, demonstrates that a self-described conservative Republican IRS manager in Cincinnati initiated the IRS extra scrutiny of conservatives:

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., released a partial transcript of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform interview with the unnamed manager in the IRS' Cincinnati office. In it, the employee said the extra scrutiny for tea party groups' tax exempt status was an effort to be consistent in reviewing applications and not driven by...
