Abortion for Disabled Babies: Who’s to Blame?

If you had a perfectly healthy baby who died in a car accident six months after being born, would you be similarly "undecided" as to whether you would have aborted her or not? Fact of the matter is that no one knows what life holds in store for them. The possibility of death, no matter how near or far it may be, does not justify intentionally murdering someone, even if the intention is to "spare" them or one's self from suffering. "Everyone" is involved in this issue because abortion is an assault on the inalienable right to life, and undermines the concept that "all men are created equal." The only reason that you would feel "disturbed," about people expressing their opinions on these fundamental issues, is that you are wrong and know it.

Abortion is no more an issue to be left to "the individual, thier god and thier doctor" than any other form of infanticide. No one has the right to take the life of another innocent person.

Either all living humans are persons, from the point of conception to the instant of death, or you deny the understanding that all men are created equal.

Conception is the only logical point of "creation" because, it is at that point that a unique, individual organism can first be distinguished according to modern sciences. According to biology, a newly formed zygote fits the definition of a living organism, and according to genetics, that organism possesses unique human DNA, discernable from that of its parents.

Instead, mother and child both died last week from a botched late-term abortion. After learning that Madison had severe birth defects and a short life expectancy, Jennifer and her husband turned to Leroy Carhart, one of the only doctors in the country who performs third-trimester abortions. On February 7th, Jennifer was rushed to the emergency room. (When...
