Romney also refused to attack Obama - his radical past, Benghazi . Romney is a gentlemen but you can't be a gentlemen when you are running against one of the most corrupt politicians in history. He needed to play dirty and call Obama out for what he is - a Socialist at a minimum, and more likely than not, a Communist. He needed to call the media out. He thought he could win the election solely because of the economy -- that obviously was not enough. He needed to scare people -- like O's fearmongering -- but Romney's scare tactics would have been warranted.

Romney wasn't a gentleman during the primaries.

The fact that he could lambast his fellow Republicans, but couldn't attack "one of the most corrupt politicians in history," is one of the major issues on why he didn't excite an interest among right-side voters.

If Romney had called Obama a socialist or a communist, he would have lost worse than he did.

Let's not sugarcoat it: we got our teeth kicked in on Tuesday. Sure, we added governorships and held our ground in the House, but we went backwards in the Senate and lost to an out-of-touch, incompetent, petty man who centered his campaign around Mitt Romney's bank account and Big Bird. We didn't get beaten by Bill Clinton in a great economy; we got beaten by another Michael Dukakis in the midst of a terrible economy. On the upside, if people have ever wondered what Jimmy Carter's second term would have looked like, then they're about to find out.
