Whatever. Lies are taught in school all the time, and most of them are of the anti-American variety. Besides, no one knows if it took place or not - the point is that Washington, unlike most liberal Democrats, was an honest man.

Lying doesn’t seem to mean the same thing that it did when I was growing up.  As a kid, I was taught to always tell the truth or there would be hell to pay.   All of the kids I grew up with were told the story of George Washington chopping down the cherry tree and his famous words, “I cannot tell a lie.” 

What happened?  When did lying become second nature without a single tinge of guilt attached?  It struck me this week that there is no distinction between lies and truths anymore. I’ve seen it...
