I've known a couple MD's who do late term abortions. They do not think about the consequences. To the they are just procedures. Some, though do them to get very rich!
Sorry, Bob, I'm a southerner and remember some of the stupidity of the segregated south when I was really young. Water fountains, bathrooms, different entrance doors, restaurants, etc, then, the threats. No excuse at all. Yankees were just as bigoted and racist and still are in some places. Vermont is the whitest state in the country. But we cannot deny our history, some very bad and a lot very good. We really have changed, thank God!
Average actually means you add up all the ages, divide by the number of people and get the average. Your definition is for the mean. I believe the huge majority are young. You won't see many of these kidnappers going after 40 year old women.

Long and Bloody July 4th Weekend in Chicago

Looks like Chicago is more dangerous than Cairo!
Fr Frank Pavone and Priests for Life wrote Nancy Pelosi a letter telling her that she was in grievous error because of her stance on abortion, among other things, and that, if she did not change her stance she was not Catholic. Also, she incurs excommunication laetae sententiae because of her actions. Excommunication is intended to bring the sinner to repentance, not to "disfellowship" someone. I hope she does repent.

An Evangelical Pope?

Dr Youseff, a little history lesson, the term, Evangelical, was adopted in the '60's to distinguish the new, with-it, modern Protestants from frumpy Fundamentalists. Guess where Evangelium comes from. St Jerome, a Catholic scholar in the 4th century who translated Scripture from the original Greek and Hebrew into Latin. That's where we and you get the Scriptures. So, yes, Pope Benedict XVI is EVANGELICAL and so will his successor be. Your characterization of the Catholic Church is close to calumny and, as a self-proclaimed Christian, you should know better. Read a little history or a few modern Catholic theologians and you might learn something. You might even want to pick up Pope Benedict's Jesus of Nazarus,

Envy is one of the 7 deadly sins, not jealousy. Pride is the primary and real one here.

That has been dealt with in the Church. The standard for the Church is the perfection of Our Lord, and She is holding herself accountable and washing out the filth. Please stop with old arguments that have nothing to do with the post.

No, in the 1770’s the colonies of the British crown declared independence. There was no federation. They were under direct control of his majesty's government and rule. It was not a mutually agreed alliance as the states are now.
Consulates usually do not have Marines and the security is local under State Dept security supervision. They close consulates when there is a threat. Embassies only have a hand ful of Marines. I knew the Marines took Tripoli with only 30 but that was in the early 19th century and these are different times. Totally unprepared and irresponsible and they are still shooting over the demonstrators. May turn out to be Tehran 1979 all over again.
