Shame on Family Films?

True. No mothers (only evil stepmothers, if at all) in the Princess movies, and usually bungling or inept or insensitive fathers: Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast. And in Sleeping Beauty, she does have both parents . . . but they give her away as a baby to be raised by the three fairies. Why doesn't Geena Davis get mad about the fact that these "family" movies don't have intact families? Even in Nemo and Toy Story, Nemo has no mother and Andy has no father in evidence. As for this feminist garbage, they need to take a look around and look at the images held up for our daughters to emulate from Katy Perry on down and criticize what is happening in real life before they get upset about movies, for...
True, the budget did balloon under Reagan, partly because Congress went spend happy with the increased tax revenues--by the way, a Democratic led Congress after his first two years--and Reagan did not veto those budget bills. I believe he later expressed that his greatest regret was not holding the line on federal spending. Under Clinton, we had budget surpluses, one of the greatest things overlooked about his presidency--probably because the Dems are now desperately trying to convince the American people that deficits are good, and the Reps don't want to admit anything positive about the Clinton era. But also remember Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America," campaign, by which the House and Senate switched to Republican majorities...
Actually, John, your conclusion is entirely backward. The economists, historians and scientists IN ACADEMIA are leftists because our universities are leftist and employment at such institutions DO NOT depend on producing results or rely on real-life conclusions. There are plenty of well-respected economists and historians and scientists who do not agree with those in academia; however, they join the world of the market economy because they are not afraid to live with real-life conclusions, as opposed to theoretical ones that abound in academia. They are not afraid to compete, either, with other economists and scientists in the employment market. You are kidding yourself if you think academicians have a better grasp on real-world...

Oh, and by the way, a "tenant" is someone who lives in rental housing; a "tenet" is a principle in which one believes.

The left's view of God clearly is not based upon individual culpability. Obama illustrated this in leaving Rev. Wright's church. If he had really believed that his immortal soul was at stake, he would not have abandoned a church to which he and his family belonged for 20 years or more because it hindered his chances to obtain the presidency. The swiftness with which he abandoned a so-called friend, mentor, and spiritual leader demonstrates either his willingness to sacrifice his soul for worldly pursuits, or his utter lack of moral conviction. I hesitate to conclude which, but either is equally damning in terms of his soul.
