Asteroids, Polar Bear Cannibalism Lead to Global Warming, or, uh, Something Bad

When I was growing up the threat was a new ice age due to the particulate matter we were throwing into the air by not using "scrubbers" on our dump site burnings and industrial waste burning. So we scrubbed the particles out of the exhausts and now we have, voila, global warming. Perhaps we can put some of the dirt back into the air. (For those who should not be reading TownHall, that was a joke.)

Actually, scientists have proposed a scheme to place highly reflective fine particles in a upper atmosphere orbit to deflect more sunlight away from the planet.
Don't laugh, Ann...

Just be happy those scientists haven't advocated eliminating all humans and other mammals that exhale CO2 into the atmosphere.

Don't forget reptiles, birds and fish. They produce CO2 as well.

Kill 'em all and let Gaia sort 'em out.

Sarcasm off.

Once all the CO2 emitters are dead, the plants will suffocate.

They HAVE Polly . . . they Have . . .

But the sad reality is . . . that if mankind disappeared tomorrow . . . nothing would change . . . man's CO2 contribution is miniscule . . . and the other said reality is CO2 does not drive the Temperature . . . the SUN DOES ! ! !

Oh, there is THAT bunch out there too; OF course they don't count themselves among those to be eliminated. I always liked the liberal idiot females that have gotten sterilized so they don't add to the population. Wonder if we could get them to volunteer for euthanasia to slow global warming.

Them cows have a reputation for Gas passing; Ask any farmer.

I've long advocated that those scrubbers the utilities put on their plants should be replaced with scrubbers that can be calibrated to release exactly enough pollutants to keep the planet at the correct temperature. (I've also wondered what the "correct temperature" might be.)

During the time of predicted global cooling (yes, in my lifetime), some advocated purposely adding particulates to the atmosphere to halt the cooling. Had they done that, I'm sure they'd be crowing that they were right, it's just that we added TOO MANY particulates and that's why the globe is now warming. But at least that would have been less harmful to the economy than all these bogus "green energy" and "carbon tax" plans now being attempted and/or implemented

Polly . . . do you realize how "clueless" you sound . . .
What would be the "Correct" Temperature for the earth?
How do we get there?
Did you know the Termites emit MORE CO2 THAN Humans do?
The reality is . . . the earth has been MUCH WARMER than today . . . 1000 years ago when the Viking lived in Greenland . . . and MUCH COLDER than today, like when a Mile of Ice was on North Dakota . . . not there today. So what's the big deal?

I thought that they also were advocating spreading dark particles over the white snow to make it melt faster and keep the ice age away.

The most pathetic part of the whole episode was that I knew that I would find it is soon as I saw the headlines and read the stories.

“A meteor streaked across the sky and exploded over central Russia on Friday,” reported Reuters, “sending fireballs crashing to earth which shattered windows and damaged buildings, injuring more than 500 people. People heading to work in Chelyabinsk heard what sounded like an explosion, saw a bright light and then felt a shockwave, according to a Reuters correspondent in the industrial city 950 miles east of Moscow.”

While reading headlines about...
