Leadership 101 for the President

Thank you for that clear statement on true moral stature. Since he is evidently never on time, (except for vacation), he also never heard that "Punctuality is the politeness of kings."

HOWEVER--FDR never said he was sorry as he rammed Socialism down the throats of the American people, and it took WWII to get us out. A whole generation fought for what this man is treating so lightly, and men like Sgt. Crawley are part of it.
Thank you again, Dr. Krauthammer for the analysis explaining that the CBO is, heroically, the only Federal agency holding him back. Congress certainly won't, while the Blue Dogs (of which I am one) are posturing for the best they can get for their own districts.

One of my doctor friends was part of the I.T.C. group Hillary invited to tell them what they were going to do. (She had to have something to occupy her while Bill was busy in the Oval Office.) All those doctors went home appalled. It has just been rewarmed, while the president and family go off to Martha's Vineyard. Surely no one believes it is an original idea? Most of his actions have been straight out of FDR;s first 100 days with an admiring media, a blitz of...

Beware of Comprehensive Health Care Reform

Thank you Reba! As an older citizen, I can vouch for the fact that Blue Cross plus Medicare cover all doctors' visits, hospital visits, FNP calls, etc. as if we were waving a credit card. Medicaid gives older people like my sister and others in her nursing home, some dignity and excellent care. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My long term health care policy on the other hand has refused to pay anything for my recent necessary care, even though they promise to give all sorts of benefits. "Take the money, but don't pay it out", seems to be their real policy.

Thank you, Dr. Sowell
A former Supreme Court justice said:

". The greatest dangers to liberty
lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well=meaning but without understanding."

Having paid for long-term health care for 11 years,I have found that not even a lawyer can make the company pay anything for my quite legitimate needs. The battle has been going on now for 2 years."Take the premiums, but don't pay the benefits'
seems to be their way of doing business. Medicare on the other hand, together with Blue Cross, covers every hospital visit, doctor's office visits & FNP visits. Medicaid, which my sister has, gives the great majority of elderly some dignity. Ann

Thank you for the appropriateness of your column. Obviously, the first culprit is Harvard for having hired him. We have read the account--and should thank an officer who risks his life to enter a strange house to confront what may be a dangerous intruder, but who is quickly elevated to respectability as a Harvard professor. The President of the United States has left us in no doubt as to where his real idealogy and his unwavering loyalty will be at all times

I would not be at all surprised if the President can conceivably find a place in his Cabinet for Al Sharpton. It does no good to call out "Tawana Brawley" or 'Chappaquiddick" we have the usual suspects, and they are congregating in Washington. Ann
From "constant reader"" Thank you, Ann Coulter. Buy your books, read your columns. Whether you read all the missives foaming in this space or not, it is vital to have the lies in the continuing controversy explained. Franken (a.k.a. "Lying Liars) got elected to Congress, and of course we know where his vote will go. The continuing radicalization leads me to the question of just how brainwashed are we? "Liberal" used to mean open to various ideas. Ann

Thanks to Michelle for a great column and book! Reba (118) could have added the initials FDR as well, to that list of promises made by a country's leader. And 13 Attorneys General have gone on to be named to the Supreme Court. Ann

Another fine book "In the Graveyard of Empires' by Seth Jones, gives a clear picture of the events from 9/11 through Hamid Karzai's first election--the events taking place now are a hugely imprtant part of our own involvement there. Ann

Does anyone really think it's coincidence that Holder called us "a nation of cowards" just before already violent situations in Afghanistan and Pakistan began to escalate?
Don't look now, but 13 men who were Attorney General of the United States then became Supreme Court justices, while Burger, Rehnquist and Scalia all came from the Justice Dept .(EEK!)

Thank you for putting into perspective the most recent of our President's orations.
I am old enough to remember the photographs at Yalta of a dying President seated next to Stalin. Has President Obama's compulsive need for "photo ops" caused him to lose all perspective on holding onto the work of 4 presidents to contain that threat? Putin was head of the KGB before becoming President.
And by the way, on the subject of President Obama's travels, the last time the French were so in love with a First Lady's wardrobe was when they were busy turning over Vietnam to us.
