I can't get excited by the question of whether Senator Robert Menendez had sex with a prostitute in Central America. It is her word against his -- and when it comes to a prostitute's word against a politician's word, that is too close to call.

Ghandi is also irrelevant. The British Empire was coming to an end anyway. After the American colonies seceded, Britain never again kept a colony against the wishes of its people. Australia, South Africa, Canada, and N Zealand were all given independance in 1931, and the remaining colonies in the 1950s and 60s. All Ghandi achieved was a genocidal civil war which left 900,000 dead, mostly non combatants after the British had left India.
