The only ones benefitting from this organized swindle of the tax payer's dollars and our financial future as a nation is the imperial Congress and its connected special interest buddies on Wall Street and elsewhere. Washington DC and the Federal departments and employees sector is flourishing and booming, thanks to the dwindling American middle class. Problem is, once they have 'kay-boshed' the American middle class, what we will have is a two-class system (much like the old S.American republics): the super wealthy, at the top, and the vast majority of the poor, at the bottom.

With all the talk about taxing the rich, we hear very little talk about taxing the poor. Yet the marginal tax rate on someone living in poverty can sometimes be higher than the marginal tax rate on millionaires.

While it is true that nearly half the households in the country pay no income tax at all, the apparently simple word "tax" has many complications that can be a challenge for even professional economists to untangle.
