Reagan apparently said later that amnesty was one of his biggest regrets...he got conned by Teddy the drunken driver killer and the Left-- they passed the tough new enforcement laws in exchange for a supposed "one-time amnesty of 1.1 million," (that proved to be 3 million granted amnesty, then the mega millions poured in to wait for the next one) BUT then declined to fund the enforcement.

A friend of mine, Republican consultant Matt Mackowiak, tweeted on Tuesday night that if immigration reform goes through Congress this year "it will almost solely be due to" Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

To which I replied: "you break it, you buy it."

There are two different conservative narratives about Rubio's dalliance with John McAmnesty and the other bi-partisan group of senators on board with his plan.
