The GOP lost because it has become a pale, watered-down version of the Democratic Party. All of Romney's 'grins' and 'Mr.Nice Guy' routine couldn't hide that fact. The current GOP establishment is serving Big Government and its corporate interests. The GOP has been doing a 'soft shoe and Panama hat' act for 30 years that it represents traditional American values, when it really represents Big Government and corporate interests. MILLIONS now fully realize that 'fact', and the 'jig' is up for the GOP. Unless the GOP turns QUICKLY to 'small government' and Constitutional values, the GOP is going the way of the Whig Party. In fact, it probably ALREADY has.
Any change requires pain. Whatever we are doing now is easy (we think) compared to change, whatever it may be. Changing is hard. It requires us to think anew, to change our habits, our processes, our language. It's venturing out into the unknown. Without a compelling reason, people will stay the same and not change.

People begin to change only when the pain of what they are doing becomes more painful than the pain of change.

Republicans -- it is time for change.

The election last week was painful -- at least for me, a lifetime conservative.
