To understand the rights given them by the Founding Fathers in the U.S.Constitution, Americans (young Americans especially) 1st need to READ and UNDERSTAND those rights. I doubt that 5% of Americans could name or intelligently describe even half of the Bill of Rights that were granted to them by the Founding Fathers as enumerated in the U.S. Constitution. Of the other 95% of the population, half don't know, and the other half don't care. Why did the founders of our nation give us the Bill of Rights? The answer is easy. They knew Congress could not be trusted with our God-given rights. Think about it. Why in the world would they have written the First Amendment prohibiting Congress from enacting any law that abridges freedom of speech and the press? The answer is that in the absence of such a limitation Congress would abridge free speech and free press.
