Obama's Cronkite Moment?

Cranking up the print presses in the Treasury and printing worthless paper money and then spreading it around like 'manure' is NOT a stimulus, and will NOT lead to any kind of 'prosperity'. We are THIRTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. Does anyone comprehend the enormity of that figure? Eight trillion dollars of that thirteen happened, just in the last ten years, under the watches of the previous phony conservative President and the current Socialist President. The United States is now 'coasting' on its name and reputation. When the rest of the world fully 'cops' to the fact that we are stone, flat BROKE, and that they (the rest of the world, especially China) are holding TRILLIONS of dollars of worthless U.S.bonds, this whole fictitious...

Well said! Our national debt, including the unfunded liability of Social Security, and Medicare parts A, B, C is well over $100 trillion...and climbing. Unsustainable is too mild an adjective to describe the present situation.

National debt is now $42,000 per capita (including illegals). I remember when my salary was $42,000.

That's what I agree with. We've given the federal government a credit card - and the label on this card is "IRS - unlimited funds transfer from the American public" and they've gone wild duirng some sort of mid-life crisis trying to please the grandkids - the illegitimate grandkids, that is, who want what everyone else has worked for!

If I ran my budget like this, I'd be living much better than I am now, that's for sure! This has come to more than a crisis point. I have really begun to believe that this is a move by those infiltrators who have always wanted to bring the America we love down to the low, confused, aggitated, cursed, diseased place that they have in their minds' eye which is actually what many, if not most, other nations live in every day. American liberals live with extreme guilt - they hate themselves for having the blessings we have in America. From this false guilt, they, in some way, gravitate toward anything that tears this country down.
Did anyone listen to Glenn Beck's comments on the 8/28 ralley? If you did, you will note that the...

We were probably at 5.7 Trillion on October 1, 2002. So it's been only 8 years.

President Obama may have experienced his Walter Cronkite moment over the economy.

Responding to Cronkite's reporting from Vietnam four decades ago that the only way to end the war was by negotiating with the North Vietnamese, President Lyndon Johnson was reported (though never confirmed) to have said, "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America."

Now President Obama appears to have "lost" New York Times liberal economic columnist Paul Krugman. Krugman, who enthusiastically supported the president's redistributionist and stimulus plans, has bowed to the reality that they are not working. In a recent column titled "This is Not...
