"Health Care" in this country has become a TRILLION DOLLAR organized 'heist' from the pockets of the American people; a 'game' having very little to do with 'patient care' which only the super-rich and the welfare class can afford to play.
The entire American health care system 'went south' and was corrupted in the 70's, with the advent of the HMO's; and following close in the train of the HMO's (like a pack of starving buzzards following a trail of dead rabbits across the desert), the lawyers and their 'Million dollar hit-the-HMO-jack pot' lawsuits. After the 70's, patient care took a FAR distant back seat to the accountants, the attorneys, the HMO executives, and the financial bottom line.

Most discussions of health care are like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

What is the biggest complaint about the current medical care situation? "It costs too much." Yet one looks in vain for anything in the pending legislation that will lower those costs.

One of the biggest reasons for higher medical costs is that somebody else is paying those costs, whether an insurance company or the government. What is the politicians' answer? To have more costs paid by insurance companies and the government.
