Congress has been using the Postal Service as a golden goose since the 70s. Do not blame the PO for the non management of Congress. Benefits are not the problem; unions are not the problem. Allowing people who are not connected with the work, who do not do the work, who want the revenue for their own budgetary incompetence is.

Postmaster General Michael Donahoe has occasionally remarked that the U.S. Postal Service will end up in a Greek-like crisis if Congress doesn’t allow it to reduce costs and operate with more flexibility.
