Despite Medved's claim that America rescued humanity from Naziism, certain Americans pioneered the ideas and legal application of eugenics that the Nazis later also applied; and the U.S. went to war to defend itself from Japan, Germany declaring war against the U.S. in response to the U.S.'s defense.

Medved's selective reporting of events is an unfortunate result of some conservatives' inability to see situations as any more complicated than an either/or between love and hate.

The industrial revolution started in England and so Europe could have developed strongly without the U.S.

The disease of America Hatred now has reached pandemic proportions in many corners of the globe, spreading far beyond the predictably hopeless fever swamps of Islamic militants, French intellectuals, or Latin American demagogues.
